Modest Big Jim and my new to me Cornstalker USA!
« on: August 28, 2014, 06:24:00 PM »
I received my Cornstalker USA 3pc recurve from Big Jims today. Let me tell you, Big Jim listed it as good condition but, I would have listed it as very good condition. It came with 2 sets of limbs. One set 34# @ 28" and the other 47# @ 28". Both sets in great condition. Here are a few pics. Will post shooting results in another thread.

It is not marked but, from my calculations, I think it is 62".

Nice One.  Does this mean the Tigercat stays home?

No, no! The Tigercat goes hunting as she is already setup and I'm pretty good with her. But, I just found out how fast this Cornstalker is!     :scared:    It's a little loud but, hits with authority. Shot GT 3555's cut 30" bop tipped with 125gr field tip using the 47# limbs.

The arrow seems light unless u have heavy inserts in the shaft.   May be part of the reason it's a little loud

Could be right as I never weighed the arrow. Just wanted to shoot it and see how it did. Definitely got some playing around to do and I'm in no hurry as I've got my bow for the hunting season.

Personally, I think it could have gone for more with the two sets of limbs but, I'm not gonna complain!   :D  I snagged it as I too knew it wouldn't last long.

Looks like a black widow or Rainy day type bow . They both like a high brace and something on the sting to get them quiet then they are dead quiet. Looks like a real shooter.

Well, I put new string silencers on, raised the brace to 8.75" and used AD Trad Lites cut 29.5" bop with 155gr tips. Total of 471gr arrows. BOOM BABY! quieted way down and arrows flew like darts. Below are the first 3 shots this morning.
