I know where I will be sitting.......
« on: August 29, 2014, 07:27:00 AM »
This picture says it all. I have a treestand 10 yards from this spot, and 4 different ground spots within 30 yards. No matter what the wind is doing on October 1st....I will be HERE:

Very nice Roger - I commented on this pic on the Michigan forum and wish you luck with those bucks.  I have not decided where I will be on 10/1 but I know where I an putting my father for sure.  With the new food plots in my best spot is even better now and Dad always gets what I believe will offer the greatest opportunity as he only hunts with me for a week or so before leaving for Florida every fall.  The stand is in the trees in the back ground of the pano shot and notice the treestand in the last pic.  That is where big boy is standing in breaking dawn after checking out my Wensel wick just out of the shot to the left.

Bobby....Absolute best of luck to you and your Dad. I just realized you are in Fowlerville....I'm thinking our hunting spots are not too far apart. Call me if you ever need help on a blood trail or dragging one of those monsters!

Likewise my friend if you ever need one of these?

Molly will be one year old September 19th and is just itching to get on the real thing after all the training runs this summer.  No clue how she will do but if her training is any indication I have great confidence.  She is a twin sister from the same litter Jerry Russell's "Bear" came from and he has proven to be quite the tracker already.  I am also in the process of getting more info from the DNR regarding the new rule 2.1a that says a dog must be "certified" and I believe(but will confirm) this relates to "tracker for hire" and not personal use.

Anyway - us Michiganders need to stick together  :)

Good luck!  nice looking spot to spend time, and some beautiful deer.
The season gave him perfect mornings, hunter's moons and fields of freedom found only by walking them with a predator's stride.

On opening day, I will be touring the battlefields of Normandy, but shortly thereafter I will have some stands waiting to be used.
