Spare String

I'd like to have an extra at hand but:
  how do you keep a string, that's shot in; from untwisting when it's off the bow?
 Do you carry the spare with silencers and all in place...
 And how do you carry yours...

I set my string up with silencers and nock point ready to roll.  After it is broken in I just take it off the bow and roll it loosely.  Never had a problem with one untwisting.  I use a twist tie to keep it from unrolling (different than untwisting) and keep it in my pack.  I think if the string is broken in and waxed it won't untwist on you.  

If you do need to replace your string in the field you'll want to check brace height just to be sure.  An easy way to do this is to put a cresting line on your arrow that is at the correct brace height for your bow.

I will use a string until it is well broke in then replace it with a new one and put the old one away for a spare. Both strings will be served, have a nock point and string silencers.  Pat

I put one of the sring loops through and then back over the other loop, then just snug-up a little...this will keep from un-twisting and also keep brace height set the same.  I always carry a spare shot in string all set up ready to use with tied on nock point and silencers...so far...I've only had to use once.

Never had a properly waxed shot in string come untwisted.  Normally I put one on my hat as a hat band.  Came in handy one day although I almost forgot it was there.

I use a twist tie thru the loops.  Will never have to worry about it untwisting.

We fellas from SC think alike!  This is a great and secure way of doing it.

Here is a tip... Once you have your string shot in and your brace height set, Nock an arrow and mark the arrow(s) where it is even with the riser and you have an instant brace height gauge without taking a bow square with you. This way in the event your spare string untwists you have a way to check it if you need it. Also good for you primary bow string.
