Tall Tines Longbow??
« on: September 09, 2014, 02:21:00 PM »
So I have a sudden interest in Brian’s Longbows, But there simply isn’t that much information or pictures of them out there?

I would be interested in both the Classic and the Hybrid, and want to hear everyone’s thoughts on both of them, and if you have pictures please share with me!

Any input would be a big help!

Thanks guys.

I have shot both and they are very quite, smooth drawing and fast that is my opinion .  I like the Hybrid best and have one on order.

They seem to work pretty darn good.  Here is a 10 month stretch from September of last year till June of this year.  This is the standard longbow limbs.  I have a set of Hybrid limbs on order to go moose hunting with...

I draw 27"

That one is 64", and my new one will also be 64".  Why?...someone might ask.  All the longbows I have ever hunted with are 64", and that length seems to work pretty darn good for me.  I guess you can say I'm a little superstitious.

That's about how I would say it.  The standard longbow is way faster than it looks like it should be.  The hybrid is very special; I've got another one of those on order right now.

Here is the bow at full draw while I was hunting Kauai, Hawaii.  Sorry it's not a side profile, but I was afraid of falling a few hundred feet, so this is all I was able to get.

Thank you for the compliment.

That was an arrow I had built in memory of my Dad.  I launched it and watched till I could no longer see the arrow and then sat there for a moment and thought about my Dad.  Kinda glad I posted that pic.  Here I sit thinking of Dad again.

Yes.  It is a completely custom riser, and a riser that I absolutely love.  Brian asked what I wanted, I told him, and he NAILED IT.

I have a few of Brian's bows: a recurve, a Dshaped longbow and a new hybrid.  I like them all but I LOVE my "D" longbow. It is just my go-to can pick it up and kill something anytime bow  :)

:biglaugh:

To add to both big Mike's stables of TallTines, I have more than a few of the recurves.  Actually I think I have at least one of every limb and riser length combo from 60-64", one of the D shaped longbows, and one hybrid. My beat up camp TT that has been with me from Alaska to Africa was all set to be bow #1 for my trip to South Africa this summer until my hybrid showed up about a month before I left. I have never shot a bow so well so quick and be so easy to tune. I love my hybrid too:

I have a big hunt coming up next year that is going to require a special rugged yet gorgeous new TT. It is going to be a hybrid and her name is Mewse...

Went out tonight to do some tinkering with some new arrow materials, and it looks like there is going to be another arrow project in the works.  All I need is a reason to make more arrows.   :bigsmyl:
