Missing opening day
« on: September 24, 2014, 09:58:00 AM »
Well, looks like I'm going to miss opening day this year. Be out in the oil patch until the morning of Oct. 4. Plan is to get home and take a nap then try in the afternoon. Lord willing I can get my second bow kill.

Sorry to hear you can't make opening day.  Hopefully, you will get one on your first afternoon.  Best of luck to ya.

Bout two weeks ago the family and I were tooling around in the jeep and saw what looked like a bachelor duo under an oak adjacent a large hay field. If the wind holds I should be good if come out at dusk as I suspect. Only question is stand in the oak or my ghillie on the ground. Wanted to move a chain in over there but never go the chance. Now that it's so close to time I'm hesitant to move much of anything.

When using good scent control I've had deer withing inches in opening morning while in the ghillie but too dark to see.

Thanks guys!

I know how you feel. I'll be in DC on opening day. Good luck-Hap
