stalking nocked or quivered

I am mostly walking around while hunting deer and small game. I sometimes nock a broad head when its easy walking but if I hear or see or think small game is around I switch to judo nocked. Sometimes it gets to thick and I have to put it in the bow quiver. Curious if you do the same or I should just keep it quivered and try to nock it fast when I see something.

I have mine in the quiver unless I stop or see game. I would hate to trip on a Treeshark.

Same.  If I am still-hunting my arrows are in the quiver.  Stalking is when game is in sight and I am moving in.  That's when I will nock an arrow as I get into shooting range.

My bows have a single arrow quiver for just such events.  All my other arrows ride in a side quiver.

I literally just got back to the house after a hunt this evening.  

The way the swamps and hammocks are here, its a "see them before they see you" close quarters type of ground game.  I have an arrow on the string most of the time if I have a clear path of travel.  My draw hand fingers lightly on the string ready to draw and shoot if I am in range and see 'them' first  :D   If the bush gets too thick to see anything or too thick to negotiate without a lot of effort then the arrow goes back in the quiver.

What nineworlds9 said. Of course there is a time when common sense tells you to quiver that arrow. I can still see those two bucks that I stumbled on going to stand in mid afternoon. I was just diddy bopping along and there they were. I think one or both were laughing as they watched me fumble around trying to get an arrow on string. I was in such a panic I dropped that arrow on the ground. You know when they raise their tales it kind of looks like their flipping you off.

If I am Walking or Stalking, I usually keep an Arrow, Point Down, held along with my Bow. Then I have easy access to it when I need it.

I use a single arrow quiver attached to my riser.  It's right there when I need it.  When small game hunting I'll keep an arrow nocked if it's pretty good walking.

It only takes a second to get an arrow out and on a string.  

You can mess up a  lifetime by falling on a broadhead or Nock of an arrow.

Like others have said. Quiver for the walk string for the stalk.

Last year my little brother tripped and stabbed my dad in the leg. Its not worth it.

I'm with Pointer, While still hunting I am quivered. For the stalk I'm nocked.

If I am hunting small game I keep the arrow nocked. If I am spot and Stalking I keep it in my quiver until I am inside a 100 yards of game I am stalking . In a tree stand or ground blind the arrow is nocked.

If I am actually stalking I will have an arrow nocked.  Otherwise it is in the quiver waiting. I sometimes have a single arrow stalking style quiver on the bow with the rest of the arrows in a n Arrowmaster or back quiver.

I'm the odd man out here....when still hunting I have an arrow nocked. I'm careful when easing around the woods, especially on wet days when I find still hunting the best.

Heading up/down hills...arrow is in my backquiver or Catquiver. If I have to climb over a fence or large tree that's fallen, I put bow/arrow on the other side first, then climb over. I personally want to be ready for any animal I may encounter while easing around.

I don't stalk deer so that is a moot point but I carry an arrow nocked and locked in a Kwik Loc when rabbit hunting. Also pig hunting.

I do not walk with an arrow nocked. I have seen some real horror stories. Never seen no one die yet.

In the quiver .... a hunter was killed a few years ago in Washington state when he was stuck from behind by a hunter who had an arrow nocked on the string ... no matter how clear your path may seem things can happen.

For the final approach-25 yds and less-arrow is on the string, also if I hear, see or smell something 'in range' I nock immediately and freeze awaiting the next steps.
