Stain - on wood grain carbons?

I always liked a little orange or yellow tint to wood shafts to brighten them up. Anyone ever wipe a stain on woodgrain carbons? I don't think I have any stain or I would try it.

Yes but it was a darker wood color not an orange or yellow.  Did it to some AD's.  Looks good.  I'll see if I can get a pic up tonight....

I stained a GT once it took Forever To dry. (It was sticky for weeks) I'll get a pic on here before long. Scuff it really good and the stain should hold. There's a wrap on those things like plastic that keeps it from adhering. Anyway I love that shaft it has a nice feel to it. And when you shoot it into a bunch of targets it wears off a bit so it's kinda 2 toned...

Carbon is not wood as for the wood grain look, have you ever tried to stain plastic.

Seems like staining carbons is more hassle than its worth. If you enjoy the look and hobby of wood working I say just pick up some shafts that are pre-cut, tapered and nock tapered and have fun!

Try a food coloring, with alcohol, not water.

I saw a tip by Roger Rothhaar about how he paints his carbons with grey primer paint.  He said it helps him in low light conditions.  He does not aim with the arrow, but your mind sees it subconsciously. It only makes sense that a lighter color will help in low light conditions.  I did the same to my arrows and it helps a bunch in low light.  They actually look pretty cool and the paint is holding up great.  Just flat grey primer.
