I shoot equally poorly from either side.

You see, I took up archery to combat [several] injuries and rheumatoid arthritis. McDave is right on the cusp. Developing your body as close to uniformly as you can may improve overall control of your bow.

When I hunted with cartridge rifles, on two occasions I got my deer shooting right-handed. Animals burst past me behind my left shoulder. Because I have always practiced all shooting left- and right-handed, the shots were uneventful.

Surprisingly, shooting a L-H bow right-handed doesn't yield unusably poor accuracy.

Or am I such a bad shot, that however I miss looks equally amateurish?

I've gotten to the shoot in Baltimore for the past 5 or 6 years, Aram.  I'll bring it if I still have it.   :)

Chuck - this is actually a 52", not 54" Striker Extreme.  The 52" is tip to tip, not nock to nock.  The original rh shelf was cut about 2 and 3/16" above center of bow, so I measured same distance down on lower side for lh shelf.  String nock to shelf measurements are equal on both sides.  Cut it with my cordless jig saw I carry on my truck for work.  Finished it out with body and fender tools, sealed with superglue and wetsanded a bit.   :)

Shelves are pretty close to center cut, maybe a 1/16 or so out.  Bow came with even tiller and tunes well.

Handle is about 4 3/8" wide between shelves...my hand is 4" wide and fits the handle nicely, have medium to small hands...only 68" tall myself.

I'm drawing 29" lh and 27" rh...lh being more of an upright target stance, and the origianl rh being more of the hunched over hunting stance (trying to rework that).  Get good arrow flight with 3555 GT carbons either way, 3 fingers under.

Hope that helps.

I have been trying to learn to shoot lefthanded too. Just to see if I can do it. Frank
