I sometimes have turkey roost near me deer hunting evenings. My plan (and that's all it is) is to set up next morning nearby and try a fly down call.

I am learning to use a mouth call just for this. A Bobcat or Coyote would be a nice bonus. I am confident of eventually calling something in; and hopeful I don't fall out of my chair.

What Trapper said.  When we could first bowhunt them in the fall, in illinois me and a buddy (wheelie days) would run up and bust them.  then one day I said if we can see them to bust them, why don't we shoot one, ding-ding.  You can call turkeys in the fall and shoot them, done it many times.  It is harder because more eyes.  Best two things I did was listen to Ray Eyes at a seminar and get his DVD on fall hunting.  It isn't easy, but that is why we shoot a stick and string right?

Thanks again everyone. The hunt starts tomorrow and should be fun. Going to snow this weekend so maybe it will drive down some of the Merriams off the mountain where I can hunt them.  Hopefully I'm going to start with the low land Rio's Sunday.
