Need a tracking dog in the NW corner of IL

Does anyone know of a tracking dog handler around the Galena, IL area?  Have a buddy who hit and cannot find a deer.

Thanks!

Do a search for deer search or United blood trackers to see if anyone is close.

United Blood Trackers maintain a list of members willing to track wounded deer.

I do blood tracking (actually my teckel Grätsche) but generally do not travel 100 miles to do it.

"...a friend of mine" generally means a wheel bow guy (in my experience) and far too many of them have no idea where they hit the too far and too brush blocked shot. I generally won't try these tracks.

It is the start of the rut and many of us are tempted to take marginal shots as the big bucks start to show themselves. Lets make those decisions carefully.

If you are within an hour or so of Iowa City, IA and need blood tracking, give me a call.

Shaun, it's a shame, but you nailed the problem dead center. Back when I was still trailing deer, I found the same to be true. Some of the calls were unbelievable.

"Hey, can you track a buck for me? Biggest buck I ever saw. I know I hit it solid"

"When did you shoot it?"

"Last Monday".

The call was on Friday evening. He and all his friends spent all week stomping all over the place.
