If public land I'd probably start taking the dog for walks when they hunt. Just stay 100 yards from them. Or go squirrel hunting on the ground. Probably legal.

I got to my public land stand in Kansas last week to find the pegs gone (found out later that they were not stolen). So I found a place on the ground to sit, unknowingly 100 yards from another guy, and he got down from his stand twenty minutes after legal light raging mad and hurling threats. Thought for sure there was going to be a scrap, but he did not follow through with his words. People are funny. Wish he had stayed put because we both had a good chance of deer coming through.

It all worked out as later that morning I got to watch my good buddy put an awesome four hour stalk on a big muley and kill it with his recurve. I would not have been able to be there if my morning hunt went as planned.

With a mentality like that I bet he bought his bow with welfare money...oh well better than beer and cigs...maybe.
