Selway, side mount or none at all

I have a Selway quiver on my Wallace Mentor, there are tap holes for a side mount but before I go ordering a side mount I'd like to get opinions between the two types. Also performance between quiver on practice/hunting -vs- quiver off. Thanks

I have always shot with a bow quiver - I like the extra mass weight plus the arrows are easy to get to for follow up shots if needed.

I have had a Selway slide on and didn't like it - it had a tendency to loosen itself up.  I use a strap on quiver now, but would much prefer to have inserts in the riser to actually screw a quiver into.

Limb-mounted quivers always affect the arrow tuning, at least for me.  I shoot a Mentor as well, have owned several of them, and on every one of them my strap-on quivers will cause perfectly tuned arrows to show stiff if they are tuned without the quiver.  I like the EFA strap-on limb mount quivers; they seem to work like Limbsavers in quieting the bow and dampening vibrations, but they definitely affect arrow spine.  I used to use the slide-on Selways, but they are heavy as a stone boat and can't be taken off easily.  They unbalance the bow too much for me.  If you have the riser inserts for a bolt on, that is surely the best way to go, and lots of companies offer that option, including EFA, I think, and Great Northern, both of which are lighter than Selways, in my experience.  Great Northern's version has, I think, knobs which allow you take the quiver off and on quickly.  Mentors are fairly heavy as recurves go, and some people don't like the extra weight on them, but I do, unless it is a 64" model, but Selways added too much weight on one side for me.  YMMV.  Paul.

I have used the Selway side mount quiver on several different take down recurves. They are the best in  my opinion. I have never had any problems with them.
