Damascus Glove Not What It Once Was: Follow-UP
« on: November 20, 2014, 04:34:00 PM »
So, I previously complained about the quality and fit of the original Damascus gloves being sold by 3Rivers.  On the recommendation of someone during that thread, I ordered one of the goatskin Damascus style and one of the deerskin Berlin style gloves in medium from Kustom King.  Thanks to whomever suggested this, as these gloves are first rate in quality and fit properly.  The goatskin glove even says "Damscus" on it, but it is made by Bear Paw archery and not the original company.  I really like them both, but if you shoot heavier bows the deerskin glove is the one you want; it has much more finger protection and cordovan finger tips for smooth releases.  I'm going to order about five more of each so that I'll have them on hand, just in case something changes like it did with the Damscus gloves.  Both these gloves are fine quality, well worth your money.  Paul.

Yes, and I'm going to try one of the kangaroo gloves, too.  Thanks.

I just ordered a Black Rhino bow and shooting glove from Black Rhino for my grandson. The glove I I am getting is similar to the Damascus glove but is of better quality than the newer Damascus gloves, according to Chuck at Black Rhino and they are the same price. When it gets here and I can evaluate it I will get several for my wife who really likes the old Damascus gloves. I would give Chuck a call.

To be honest, I may end up liking the Berlin glove even better after shooting them both a bit now.  I still want to try that kangaroo glove, as others have posted good things about it, too.  The Berlin glove is going to need a good week of break-in, compared to the goatskin, but it gives lots more protection while still allowing the clean release of the Damascus.

Okay and thanks, I just placed my order and will look forward to trying out the Kustom King goatskin.
