Silver tip recurve limbs

Can someone help my memory out of how 60 inch limbs change weight when placed on a 15 inch riser. Is there a weight gain if they come off a longer riser to the short 15 inch riser? Any help would be appreciated as I am looking for a set of 43-45 lb limbs for my 15 Inch riser. Thanks tom

Bear takedown limbs go up in weight as the riser gets shorter. I believe ILF bows do as well. I think you would gain 2-3 pounds per 2 inches difference in riser length.

Tom, A 15" riser will gain about two # if the limbs originally made a 60" bow on a 17" riser. If the bow was 60" it will now be 58". If the limbs where made as his long recurve limbs you would now have a 60" bow with the 15 " riser. Anyway if you go from a longer riser to a shorter riser rule of thumb is 1 pound per inch increase long to short. I have all Dave's risers and do this all the time. Hope I made sense.

Bill I called Beth today and they have a pair to finish off that will come in at the lower weight, turned out to be a reasonable deal and will have them in a couple of months. I am hoping to do something that I have threatened to do for years and that is become a one bow guy. Tom

Good luck with that Tom, I have been attempting to do that for the last few years. It's a hard road to navigate, good luck.
Good Shooting,
Craig

Craig it's just that I loose track and end up trading for bows that I previously owned, that have inscription "last one" on it....I have to try my friend, my wife would be so happy if I changed my ways. Tom

Ouch, you know how to hit a guy where it hurts! Take care buddy and if you have to give them all up for one.... it may as well be a Silvertip.
Good Shooting,
Craig

Tom, two bow types is OK: Longbow only one and recurve. I have chosen Schafer recurves and Stewart longbows- No problem unless you have a bunch of each.
