Quieter with a shooting glove
« on: November 29, 2014, 01:03:00 PM »
Has anyone else experienced quieter shooting by using a glove ? I went back to an old glove I had and the shot was a much duller sound, why would that be.

I switch between a glove and a tab, and sometimes bare fingers.  No difference as far as I can tell.

Your tab might need to be trimmed. If the leather overlaps your finger-tips u might hear a slapping sound on release.    :campfire:

When I use a tab I tend to hook my fingers and I get a bad release . But that's just me .Could be what you are doing . I do known several shooters that prefer the tab . To each his own . If you like a glove better and it works better , I say stick with it. .

Depends on the material of the glove or tab. I was switching between some of my gloves and tabs the other night. My american leathers big shot and my Bateman cordovan tab were louder than my Damascus glove and my Neet super leather tab.
From loudest to quietest in this order
Big shot
Bateman tab
Damascus
Neet super leather tab
I don't think between the loudest and quietest it would cost you an animal.

I think it very well might be I am releasing cleaner with the glove as Piratekey mentions. Going to pay closer attention when I shoot again. Thanks all
