Tough Order

My nephew Oliver has a birthday tomorrow. Just tonight, over the phone, he asked for me to build him a new bow for his Birthday....
I told him it may be a little late... lol. Not sure what I will be able to do to swing this one but we will see. The good news is, when I figure it out, another Mad dog youth bow will be sent back into circulation.
I know I have worn these pics out but they make me proud!

It's so cool to see kids with bows. My daughter is 3 now and I plan to get her a longbow sometime in 2015. She runs to her toychest for her little plastic "Merida" bow every time I touch mine or string it up. She always wants to help me pull the string back and wear my glove.

Hey you have a few hours, get your butt to work. LOL
Henry did that to Papa (me) this year when we discovered he had out grown his longbow.
It lead to a new line of bows thought.

Too cool! I can't wait 'til mine is old enough to shoot with me!

My grands kids love their bows. They do tire of them easily, but they always will shoot for awhile. 2 and 3 years old, that is expected

Oliver will be 7 this year. The above pic was taken at 5. he wanted to send me the above pic to show that he hit the target with all but 1 arrow.
I have one issue.... I don't build bows.... I built him a PVC one but that was when he was 3 or 4.
I figure I will get him a low poundage recurve or something he can shoot for the next couple years. Problem is, I am not there, not sure what kind of weight he can handle yet. I will be asking questions of his mother and father soon. Before the Twins come out.

Hey Charlie, I am sure that if you came down one Saturday or Sunday we could get something made. Maybe not finished, but close enough that you could finish it at home. I have a nice stash of hickory seasoning in the shop. After next weekend there will be plenty of spare time. If you have an idea what specs you need I could also jump start the build. Just a thought.
