West Texas Hog and Javelina hunts
« on: December 12, 2014, 02:15:00 PM »
I have received the last of the deposits from our groups of hunters that are coming for 2015.  We do have a few weeks where we have some openings for Hog and Javelina hunts this winter.
Hunts available are:

   Last week of January
   First week of February
   Last week of February
   First week of March.

We can accomdate single hunters or small groups up to 4-6 depending on the week.
5 days of hunting. Arrive on Saturday afternoons and begin hunting on Sunday, depart by Friday. We have bunk beds, shower, kitchen, corn, blinds, cleaning station, freezer etc. all provided. Hunter is responsible for his own sleeping bag, pillow, towel, groceries and beverage.   Our hunts are $750.00, 5 days hunting. We are a bowhunting only operation. Free range, over 90,000 acres, no fences, no guns.  We have Jagterriers that we hunt with and use them for tracking.  If you have a dead hog out there, just ask for help and we will find it for you.  We have a good number of Tradgang hunters but we have compound and crossbow shooters too.  We cannot guarantee you will be in a Traditional only camp but can assure you there will not be any gun hunters any time during our hunts.

Nonresident Texas hunting license is required.  5 day license runs around $50, available over the counter at sporting goods depts. Hunter safety card required unless you are old.

Javelina season closes the last week of Feb. so Javies are not available on our March hunts.

This is our 6th year as a Bowsite sponsor.  I used to be able to spend more time frequenting this site but have not been able to be here very much since adding the outfitting business and mule farm to my regular work. Little time to hunt either. When you make hunting your business it takes up all of your spare time.  I am looking forward to retirement in a couple of years so I can get back to doing what I really enjoy.  In the meantime, thank you for your patronage and support over the past 5 seasons.

For more details see our website hog pages or the links below.

Limit is one Javelina.  No limit on hogs.  No trophy fees.  No additional fees for extra hogs or hogs over certain weight.  Any weapon as long as it is not a gun.  No other restrictions on hog hunting.  Javelina are considered game animals and must be taken in the daytime.  Spot lights, flood lights and laser sights ok on hogs.

These are free ranging wild hogs. There is a learning curve on killing hogs especially feral hogs that run wild.  The guys that hunt them regularly kill a lot more than the novice first time hog hunter.  No way to measure your fun as you work your way up the curve.

The Midland-Odessa Texas airport is about 30 miles from the bunkhouse.
