Thank you for the kudos gentlemen, it surely was a fun, unique, and memorable hunt, that's for sure.

nineworlds9, the term "Killvested" ~ is a term I coined about 12 years ago.  I simply got fed up with hearing the word "harvested" used as the term describing the taking (killing) of game animals, especially big game.  I'm old school, a farm & ranch South Texas boy.  I grew up HARVESTING crops, NOT animals!  Before I knew it, and as the years rolled by I noticed in hunting magazine & newspaper articles the word "killed" got traded for BAGGED, then some years later TAGGED, and then a couple decades later "harvested".  So, I coined the word KILLVESTED as a sarcastic poke at writers who were using harvested.  Then, about 5 years ago I wrote an article about the subject ~ complete with the history of each of the "taking of game" terms used above, along with my humorous dispensations of how we (hunters) got here, and why we hunters shouldn't be ashamed to (tastefully) use the word "kill".  Thus, I offered them (hunting editors, writers, etc) the word KILLVESTED as a hybrid word to tactfully describe what had happened to the animal shown in the story photo.  That's a short version anyways...    ;)

Bisch, I named him that the first time I met him three seasons back, when he waltzed into my hunt one evening as a 3.5yo wide, low racked 8pt with a "mousy" expression on his face and hair color.  There's another wide racked buck in that spot as well, between 18" & 20", but with much taller tines and 50% more mass.  I call him "SuperWide", but haven't seen him this season, only on the trail cam once.  For some reason, they don't always cooperate and accommodate my time on stand ~ knuckleheads!

Nice buck, thanks for sharing. I'm not one to worry about the word "kill" because that's what we do...it certainly isn't catch and release. Thanks for the great story.
