Rare sighting
« on: December 13, 2014, 07:33:00 PM »
Was out this morning and the big 8 that I've been chasing all fall comes by and stands barely 15 yards from me...at 6:30, too early to really see his body and take a good Shot....but the highlight of the morning was about 15 minutes prior when I had a fantastic view of the best meteor shower I've ever seen, was very cool. Anyone else catch that today?

Geminids peaked last night. Glad you got to see it. Too cloudy here.

JJ....that's what heard afterwards, I wasn't expecting it which made it so cool. I was looking up at Venus which was absolutely blazing and then the meteor shower just blew up, really awesome stuff. I absolutely love sitting in the woods in the dark, the people sleeping in were completely unaware of the show that was being put on, I feel like we as hunters are priveldged to get to know about this stuff, which is why I thank my dad and grandpop for hooking me early in life!

Yep, sometimes a successful hunt does not entail dropping a string.  Good on ya!

Yep, the Geminids are a spectacular show. In my opinion the best meteor shower of the year - it's just too bad it happens in the peak of winter  :D

Always an awesome thing to see from the woods.

Solid overcast all weekend.  Really wanted to see the shower, too.  Didn't see any deer either, but we're just coming off gun season.
