I personally like long adapters for all my heads as it strengthens the ferrule of the broadhead and it helps to align the head easier. Also when glueing them on the long adapter is stronger because it has more surface area in contact with the glue and broadhead.

I try to avoid short adapters for the above reasons.

What they said. Short adapters work just fine but I will always use a long one if there is one that works.

I always use the long version when suitable. Some heads just will not work with a long adaptor ( like, with with razor inserts) unless you modify them.
