Hello, I need help..

Welcome to the group. I can only second what others have already said. You will probably start out shooting one bow and wind up with a different bow (or bows). If you can get hooked up with a group of trad archers there in VA and try several different bows you may start out a little farther along the "buying curve". We have several groups here who shoot informally and, once deer season is officially over, will be probably shooting some leagues too.

Bet you're going to enjoy the switch and find it far more challenging.

I live 20 mins south of richmond. There is one place I know of. Dixie bowman. I get up with them.

Good advice from the Va guys. You are way better off to try many bows and take others up on there offers to help you learn trad archery.(bow leangths, arrow spine, form, etc. Also you will find that the bow will pick you.

You must be practically in my backyard; we're in Prince George, just outside of Hopewell.  Got plenty of room to shoot, and my bows are right in line with what you are considering...main bow is 47# @ 26".  Feel free to PM me if you'd like to try them out; otherwise, I'm sure to see you at Dixie soon.
