Help choosing new arrows

So I'm trying to decide on some new arrows, I'm looking at CE 150's and CE 90's. Currently shooting 250's cut at 29.5" with 125 grain tips and standard inserts and they are too stiff. I'm shooting a bear Montana at 45#, my draw is right at 28". Any advice would be much appreciated.

90's work well for me at that weight.   150 grain tips with standard inserts.  I can even jump up to 175 and still get great flight.  My bow is an RER Retro cut past center.

Close call as the newer Heritage have changed their spine ratings.The 150 went from .487 to .495 spine and the 90 went from .608 to .688.The 150 may be a better choice as they will accept a heavier insert if needed.The 90 is a slightly smaller diameter arrow,only choice you have are the standard aluminum insert and is a lot weaker spine then the older 90's.I would try the 150's with the point weight you want to shoot and trim and tune from there.The older 90's may work also,I don't believe the Bear Montana's riser is not cut past center.

Are the inserts changeable? I always thought they were pretty much permanent once they were glued in. After looking at the changes in spine you mentioned I'm leaning towards the 150's, with maybe a heavier insert, I think maybe that will help clean up my arrow flight.

Thanks for posting that data. I was wondering if by going to a .688 spine if ce was discontinuing the 75.  Guess my decision is back to being tougher lol

Where are you getting 688?

Those inserts don't have to be permanent either.

If you put them in with low temp hot melt glue they can be removed without damaging the shaft. Screw a field tip in and heat it just enough that you can twist the tip and insert clockwise and pull it out. Get it real hot and you will weaken the shaft, but it doesn't have to be that hot.

Get some Easton 2016's and try those if you get a chance. Put a .145 head on and try one that is 29.5" long. Bet you'll like it.  rat'

When all else fails....Go   WOOD!! I use JB Weld to keep my points on. If you should break the arrow, just heat the point up and the JB will let loose, and the point comes right off to be Shot on another arrow!!
