Where did you find your silencers performed best?

Right now I have them at the 1/4s on a 58" bow and it seems loud. I'm shooting a 10.5gpp arrow too.

It may just be the different tone that the carbon makes especially if you aren't used to it. That being said, my 56" Chimera seems quieter with the silencers closer to the tips.....about 10".  Are you using the stock string with the wool silencers?
Take care,
Jason

I am using Jim's strings and silencers yes. Just put a new string on and I'm tuning some new, heavier arrows.

I just had a glass bow made and I own a Chimera. The Chimera definitely has a different tone. Not sure it's louder but it's higher pitched. The glass bow is more of a thud sound. Bet it's just the carbon. Doubt moving the puffs will make much of a difference but experimenting is part of the adventure. Also the chimera  is faster by my eyes and bareshafts a stiffer arrow so if you have an elite a bet it's smokin

You might try to raise your brace hieght to the upper end of recommended hieght.Maybe 7.5 on the 58 inch bow?I have only had 60" and 62 inchers.I braced them 7.5 to 7.75.

A bow quiver might help.I liked a an all rubber selway slide on of all the different ones I tried on my Centaur's.

Some folks dont like em for thier looks. But limbsavers will make any bow quieter placed 3 inches above the fadeouts of the riser. When all else fails to please your ears.

All my Centaurs were pretty quiet. The all glass has a more muted tone IMO than the chimera, double or tripple carbon.

I actually use four.  I split a "normal" wool silencer in half and place them at the 1/4 and the 1/3 measurement on a 58" bow. So about 14" and 20" respectively.

I have tried going to the two, but went back to 4.

That is a triple carbon with XLT laminate
.
I shoot three under too.

Don't read anything negative into this...I love this bow and going to get another just like it.

Carbon bows have a different pitch than glass bows or should I say perceived pitch. I watched  a couple guys shoot my Centaur and it seemed very quiet. When I shot it, it seemed noisy at first. I love my Centaur!
