A well built single bevel two blade such as grizzly, tuffhead, or cutthroat would be my choice.

I just killed one using a Black widow SAV 46# @ 27.5. Arrow was a Carbon Express Traditional 250 29 inch length with a magnus 150 grain stinger with a bleeder weighted to 600 grains.  The shot was about 12 yards from a tree stand. The shot started out with the hog slightly quartering away. The hog must have turned a little.  The arrow hit the spine and drove about ten inches into the chest.  Other than a lot of squealing and spinning, the 85 pound hog dropped in its tracks.

In my penetration tests the STOS penetrates easiest, with the Magnus II in second.

I was looking at some heads last night and I think the STOS was priced at near $50 for 6 of them.  Does that sound right or am I confusing them with another head?

I have 3 woodsmans.

Since I'll likely be shooting carbon arrows with the 500 spine, it sounds like you guys favor weighting the arrow.
Should I weight my arrow to get it heavier?  What is the target weight for an arrow + broadhead to have the best chance at a humane kill?

I'll get my scale out tomorrow and weigh my arrows and heads and see what I have.  I've never weighted an arrow in my life other than using the glue on adapters and stuff like that.

Nala, You're right, I just checked 3Rivers pricing and the regular Stos list at $42.99 per 6 and the newer head they have out is listing at $59.99 per 6.  Guess I won't be buying any more Stos heads.      What the heck is the deal with broadhead prices these days?
The years accumulate on old friendships like tree rings, during which time a kind of unspoken care and loyalty accrue between men.

You may check out Braveheart Archery as well. They sell STOS and the price is right. Great service and FAST shipping as well!

I shoot Gold Tip Traditional shafts, 5 gpi weight tube, 100 grain brass insert, 3 blade Woodsman.
Total weight 610 grains, give or take.
I've recovered ten out of the last ten hogs I've shot with that combo.
Guys laugh when they look at the arrows in my quiver! All of them have been through hogs, rinsed/wiped off, heads touched up, back in the quiver:)
