seeking moose hunt questions/opinions/advice

I have a chance of moose hunting in Newfoundland in 2016
1. 3rd week of Sept so potentially warmer, coming off a full moon, early rut but less hunters have been at camp.
OR
2. hunting the first week of Oct: probably cooler, coming off new moon, later in rut but more hunters have come through.

September will find the bulls more responsive to calling, based on Maine rut.

When I hunted them in Alberta the warm weather shut them right down in the middle of the rut. After that I will always go for when it is colder.

I think you are asking us to help you predict that the weather might be like at those two times...if I could do that I would be wealthy enough to hunt moose continually all fall

Damascusdave, no, not a weather prediction. I am asking what variables such as moon phase, hunter pressure have on the moose rut.

I'd go for October, but weather conditions DO make a difference with moose. It is a bit of predicting the weather. In Alberta the first/second week of October seems a good time if the moose are calling you be ok and if they aren't calling then you won't. No one can tell a moose what to do

Thanks to all who responded and sent a PM. I made a decision. Now I have to decide on which bow and what arrow setup. But that is for a different post later on.
