3 Under Tab Thickness
« on: February 23, 2015, 10:43:00 AM »
Lately I've developed a little bit of tingling in my left middle finger from shooting. I'm using a Bateman Cordovan tab which I like, but I don't think it's thick enough for my bow weight and amount I'm shooting.

I shoot 3 under, and it looks like Bateman, Rod Jenkins, and Black Widow are all popular options. Can anyone confirm/deny that one of these tabs is significantly thicker than the others?

I have what I think is a Bateman 3-under tab and several BW's. The BW's are 3 layers thick. The presumed Bateman only 2.

The BW tabs have a thin rubber layer in between a suede backing and the either Calf hair or Leather face.

The Bateman tab has only 2 layers. The BW tab is just a little thicker.

Since I started trimming the length of the BW tabs they have become my favorite. Not sure if the Calf hair or leather face makes a difference. I like them both.

I have a Bateman and the one Rod sells.  The Jenkins model is thicker.

Thanks everyone, I'm going to try the Jenkins tab and see if it helps

I think Rod Jenkins is currently out of tabs.  I took a clinic with him last weekend at 3 Rivers Archery.  He thinks he will have them finished by April 27th.  3 Rivers is getting the first batch when they are done.  Might want to check with 3 Rivers.

You may try to call Bateman direct and order what thickness you want. Used to do it that way.

It may be worth your time and $20 to try a  Dan Toleke Tab.

Actually, we're expecting to ship all of 3Rs current order SPILT-FINGER tabs by 2/27 and have a good stock of 3under tabs in stock now.

Wrap that joint on electrical tape for support and then shoot. I do this regularly to avoid the numb tingling feelings. I have a duraglove one the way to help resolve this
I'd rather be judged by 12 then carried by 6
