1st with new bow.
« on: October 06, 2007, 09:43:00 AM »
I saw 3 in the morning.  Then I was walking out when this trophy presented an unpassable shot.  I lost an arrow on him.  I have no idea where it went afterwards.  He was in a tree, but I made a nice double lung with a zwickey.  He went 3 yards and piled up.

I would love to know more about your bow.  Very nice shot, too.

ChristopherO,
It is a hickory backed osage self bow.  I killed the rat snake that decorates it.  It also has teak overlays.  I made the string silencers out of wool yarn and made the flemish string as well.  I am happy with it.  Definitely shoots where you look.
Thanks for the interest.

Good job! I like that snakeskin, I put a texas rat snake on a bow I made, I really like the looks of those snakes. Mine looks very similar to yours. Cool bow also.

Thanks everyone, I will re-live it often.  It was my first time to cook squirrel.  Tastes good!  But next time I will slow cook it.  I marinaded it in some spicey habanero sauce.  Mmmmmmmmmm Mmmmmmmm!  My 2 girls liked it too.
