Conesville... Ohio
« on: March 23, 2015, 11:01:00 PM »
Hey guys well after countless months of planning and researching the first steps of my first ever out of state hunt are coming together. The AEP property in Ohio called Conesville coal mine lands are going to be my target area. Mid April I'm heading down to put some miles on and get a general idea of where my going to hunt this fall. I'm sorry excited to chase my favorite game in another state its been my dream to do this with my cousin dad. I'm not looking for anyone's spots or anything but does anyone have any info on any area to at least start. Thank you all as always
Take a deep breath and pick a spot

I have never hunted it but a few on year should be able to get you started. I do have a friend who has a Trad shop in Conesville and has hunted private land in that area his whole life. He has made several comments of how the population is way down. It is my feeling that this is a state wide issue as I have noticed it in the counties I hunt as well. I am not trying to discourage you just trying to help. I would also consider the Wayne National Forest. Plenty of big Timber and you can get away from people. Good luck.

Check your dates, you'll be darn close to turkey season.  I mean if your buying out of state licenses, might as well get your money's worth!  Lol

Numbers have been down but it's still a ton of fun!

Wow, to choose a heavily pressured public hunting area in a densely populated state with the lowest deer numbers in over a decade, you must really be up for a challenge....

Take a compass. Some moron from Cleavland got lost for about 2 days when his phone GPS couldn't get a signal and his battery died.....
