Bow fishing 3-23-2015
« on: March 24, 2015, 11:50:00 AM »
Me and 3 buddies went out last night after classes to try and get into some carp. We've been seeing a few moving up into shallow water here and there but the numbers just haven't gotten into shootable depth yet. Apparently in the couple of weeks where we couldn't go, a substantial number of fish moved up into the coves where we put a hurting on them. Overall we killed 53-55 drum, common carp, bigmouth buffalo and  smallmouth buffalo. I personally killed about 20 of the fish with the old Sammick sage.

Good shootin', congrats. Bow fishing is something I've been thinking about getting into for a while, and I've recently decided to give it a try. How could it not be fun? It combines two of my favorite things, hunting and fishing. Thanks.

I don't have any bowhunting equipment yet, but It's gonna be a while here anyway, unless I do it through the ice. Bow ice fishing??

Gotta try this sometime. Only fish allowed to shoot up here is pike, but still it's bowfishing.

Me too. They spear fish through the ice using decoys, why not a bow if legal? I'm sure It's been done.

Is there no limit to how much fun you can have in this sport?    :D

That's one good thing about Tennessee. Open water and no season on rough fish.
