One week in New Zealand
« on: April 01, 2015, 11:27:00 AM »
My wife and I will arrive in Aukland on the 18th of April.  Are there places to shoot?  A 3D would be great.  I will bring a takedown if I have a chance to shoot it.  Turkey season will be going when I get back, need to stay sharp.

Hi Michael

We have loads of wild turkeys in NZ, and there is no season on them.  Auckland is not very far from farmland and wilderness.  You be able to ask around and be able to shoot some real turkeys in NZ.  Unfortunately I live in Australia now, otherwise I could help you with some contacts.  You will love NZ, lovely place and lovely people.  We love hearing American accents there - so you will be a big hit - he he.

Don't know much about shoots up in Auckland but you could try contacting these shops;

Advanced Archery
 http://advancedarchery.co.nz/

Archery Direct
 http://www.archerydirect.co.nz/

Archery Imports
 http://www.archeryimports.co.nz/

Mostly wheely bows but they may be able to help you out.

You are going to be here right in the middle of our rut so lots of folks will be out chasing deer at that time.

Good luck
