WY Mule Deer DIY hunt! need some advice

So starting to plan my hunt for 2016. I have never been Mule Deer hunting before so I need to start looking into this adventure now.I went turkey hunting out in Spotted Horse about 4 yrs ago and I absolutely loved the country, by no means do I think this is going to be anything but an adventure and a learning experience. If I get lucky and harvest a deer that'sjust the icing on the cake. I put my points in last year and will do it again this year but I ha e a few question on where to start.
Maps and good areas for deer and  camping. Going to look on there wildlife department website for more info. But thought you guys might have a few other suggestions on what to do how to do it where to go all that good stuff. Any tips will be greatly appreciated.

Well so far, go elk hunting without a mule deer tag.  I was within 10 yards on a great mule deer buck last year.

Are you planning on a High-country hunt? I have done 5 solo, backpack, hunts for mulies. 4 in Colorado and 1 in Utah.

I began by researching units that I could easily draw. Once I narrowed it down to a couple of units, I started looking for areas with a lot of basins. Spots where I could glass multiple basins with out having to travel great distances.

I used google earth to get a feel of topography. I found a website,www.summitpost.org, it's a hiking site that shows trail heads into different mountains. Hikers will often attach photos of the area. I use the photos to look at the vegetation In the area to see if it's suitable for deer. Usually looking for willow.

I also, look for water. For me mostly. I had to pack water in Utah. Vowed never to do that again!

I've never hunted Wyoming but hope this helps.
