Trying wood arrows?

Thinking of trying wood arrows out of my new TallTines.
Probably going to try Surewood Douglas fir shafts, just not sure how much they weigh or what spine test kit to order. Would like them to be 650 grains or a little heavier, with VPA 3 blade 190 heads.
Anybody have this combo and know what they weigh by chance?

My Douglas fir shafts weigh 765 grains. I keep them full length, have a 190 broad head. They are spined 90/95#.

Don't know your draw length yet, nor how long you want the finished arrows. My guess is you'll be in the ball park of 75/80 spine. (Others will offer more knowledgeable estimates.)
If you go to the Surewood website, there's a chart with approximate weight ranges for various spines. And they are most helpful if you give 'em a call.

I'm guessing you'll have to drop point weight or you'll end up a lot heavier then 650. Send me your address. I'll send you some 75-80 and 80-85 and a field point variety that should be real close to 650 with 125-160 grain points. 30" back of point long enough for your style?

I have two different weights of surewoods.
1st set is spined 75-80 lbs, 29" long with 180 grn BH weighs about 640 grains.
2nd set is spined 70-75 lbs, 29" long with 155 grn heads are in the range of 600 grns.
Both sets from Snag; email him and I am sure he can advise you. He's very knowledgable and builds beautiful arrows to boot. Wilderness Custom Arrows.
I shoot the heavier arrows out of my 53# Blacktail primarily.
