Blind Idea
« on: May 11, 2015, 12:42:00 PM »
I have been thinking of having a canvas teepee made .
I know of a Amish man that makes custom canvas tarps and I could have him make a teepee shaped tarp with flap windows . I figure about 10 feet high and about 6 feet wide at the base . 2 x 4 frame .
Hopefully I can shoot my longbow inside it with no wall interference .
So what do you think and any design input ?
I do realize this will not be very portable but it will probably stay put all season anyway .

I'm from the the original amish country in Lancaster, Pa and those amish guys do great work.  Definitely draw out your design and check your measurements and the angle of the teepee walls to make sure you have enough clearance on all sides.  Sounds like a cool idea!

Te-pee isn't a good design for a blind, IMO.  Run out of upper limb room quite fast. Have to build it quite large to get the necessary clearance.

I tried it with logs....it's less roomy than you think, because it's so narrow at the top.

For what you would pay for the custom built teepee, you could buy a blind designed for archery. I'm thinking of the Hidden Hunter blinds.
