Feather Rest Question

Curious about feather rests - Does nocking point placement square to the top of the feathers (where the shaft rests) or base of the feathers if shaft is pressed down?

I go from where the shaft rests works great for me

I have wondered the same thing . Been thinking of getting one to try it out . I have read that they are very durable and last for years .

Put your square on and when it touches the feather rest then put your nock set where you usually do. Start shooting and you can adjust from there.

I find a featherrest to be about as forgiving as anything I have ever shot off meaning that nocking point is not all the critical for good flight

I have a feather rest on my new bobcat. I find that I have to constantly reset my nocking point as the more you shoot the feathers on the inside of the rest start to lay down lower just from use.

Anyone else have that issue?   ( I shoot a lot).

Yeah, that is what I was afraid of and never tried one... Personally don't like fiddling around, I like setting the nocking point and leaving it, although periodically checking it for movement, but don't like tinkering with nocking points unless I absolutely have too if for somehow got moved for whatever reason (string stretch, slippage or such)...

I've shot a feather rest for quite some time now. Never had a problem with my nock point due to wear.

I'm with fnshtr on this one. I measure from the top of the rest and lower the nocking point an eighth. Never have to touch it after that.

As long as you start with a good quality rest you'll be just fine... and you'll be amazed at how forgiving a feather rest is.
