Tolke SS

I need some input on a Tolke SS .  I have done a search and didn't see much.  

I typically shoot "recurve" or "pistol" style grips.  

Any input is greatly appreciated.

I haven't shot one but hear they are nice!

Nice but but not my favorite.  I like the Chinook and Lynx recurves better.  Anything specific you want to know?

I wrote a nice review with pics "Toelke SS ride in the saddle" if I remember.  Superb recurve, though I like Biathlonman favor the Toelke Chinook, it does everything the SS does in a shorter package that is a little more dead in the hand.  If you like a longer bow or draw more than 30" the SS would do you right.  Also Google the Rose Oak Heritage takedown by Brandon Stahl
  It is just as nice to shoot as an SS or Chinook.

I have two in my pile now.  They are very smooth to 30" and plenty fast.  I think the Chinooks are a bit quicker.  I had a set made with a whip and SS to cast the same.  Dan said that to match the SS, the Whip needed to be about three pounds heavier.  He was spot on.  Both cast the same arrow with equal speed.  The SS is a bit smoother to draw to 30" than the Chinook.  I have one SS with the standard thumb rest grip and one with the "classic" grip.  I find that I prefer the standard grip.  Many that have shot them prefer the classic grip.  The only way to know is to shoot them both to decide.

Bottom line is that the SS bows are well made, plenty quick, and easy to shoot.  If you get a chance to try them, I think you will like them.

I've shot a lot of bows and the SS is the one I keep coming back to. It's so smooth and stable that it makes it easy for me to shoot it well. I have a pile of robin hoods from my SS.

I also shot a high wrist grip for a long time but the Toelke standard grip is really nice. It's shaped so you can get your hand in the same position consistently and it is very comfortable. I love the thumb rest on it.
