question about First Lite
«
on:
June 20, 2015, 10:33:00 AM »
My wife and daughters bought me a First Lite outfit for father's day. Real tree camo. I tried it on, everything fits well. My question is, will the garments shrink the first time I wash them? I am not sure that the shirt will fit in my shoulders if it shrinks.
Thanks

I haven't noticed any appreciable shrinkage with my Llano tops. You may want to call FirstLite before you wash it. I'm sure they would be glad to exchange it if necessary.

Ryan Sanpei AKA S2 Bowstrings could probably help you out. He is a sponsor for them. He always seems eager to help out,and is doing videos. I'm sure he could give you some good info on their stuff.

I've had the same experience as everyone else here. No noticeable shrinkage.
I tried to abuse this specific shirt and pant this year. At least 40 days in the field and washed after every trip. I am following the washing recommendation and line drying my apparel.

What pattern is that, really like my ASAT but that pattern looks like it would really work in a treestand after the leaves start dropping.

I personally have not had a problem with mine shrinking. However I do have a friend who had a shirt that went from a XXL to a children's medium in 1 wash. My guess is that he didn't follow the washing instructions. But it is wool. It could shrink some. I would just make sure to line dry!
Enjoy

So, the chartreuse feathers DO glow. At least a little bit.

Homebru,
The top B&W is with the chartreuse and the second one is orange. From the images, they sure seem to glow. It's one of my favorite colors for filming, shows up really well, but without a fletch cover, I may be waving at the animals...
I feel like it reflects light, so when I need to be really stealthy, those fletches stay home.

My first lite t shirt shrank a bit, and was laundered with the rest of my first lite gear that did not shrink
Not sure why only that shirt, oh and the thin merino gloves, were the only garments to shrink out of three shirts, pants, face mask and neck gaiter. I used the dryer on low heat.

No Dryer! Just line/air dry.
Follow the washing instructions and you'll be OK.
To not follow them is like dry firing your bow... why would you?
FL is some of the best for sure.

I bought mine a couple months ago before my Manitoba bear hunt. Washed them for the first time and air dried before the trip with absolutely no shrink. A couple friends have First Lite stuff too and really like it. Plan on wearing mine a lot this fall. Great quality, fit and comfort, well worth the money in my opinion.

I agree about not putting them in the dryer. I don't care what the label says, I would always air dry any kind of wool.
