Small game point holder???
« on: July 14, 2015, 05:36:00 PM »
Any of you tried the magnetized small game point holder (I saw it in the 3Rivers catalog)?  I have a couple of set ups with quivers that really don't hold a judo or blunt well.  I really like hex heads and hammer blunts, but they just don't stay in the quivers well.

I have my main bow set up with a Kanati Pro quiver with the extra arrow holder - that one works great.  However, I've tried piggy backers on my other quivers and hate them.  They move, rotate, and rattle on every shot and they render one of the 2 arrows useless so I really don't see the point.

Let me know if anyone's tried it and how it worked, or if you have any good "home-bru" remedies for carrying a blunt arrow or 2 in your bow mounted quivers.

Thanks!

They work very well in my opinion.  Tim Roberts, who supplies these magnetic holders, and I have been using a slightly different design than the ones you see on 3Rivers to produce our Ultimate Rover pocket and hip quivers.

Tim is a sponsor on TG under his business name of Farr West Leather.  If you are interested in seeing the Ultimate Rover quivers check out his sponsor page!

I have two of the Farr west ultimate quivers.
I like them very much but I will say the magnetic holder is pretty specific to the judo point.
If you have the condors, they won't fit, if you use the grasshopper style judo's I find that most of my field points won't stay inside the cup, just not enough depth to hold them. A steel blunt also doesnt fit in the cup.
Don't get me wrong, I really like these quivers , I'll be using them at ETAR this yr with judo's

I have always carried hex heads with the nock end in the foam but did buy one of these from 3 rivers a few months back and really like it.

I put in a great northern quiver and have no complaints so far as it does exactly what it is intended to do and makes absolutely no noise.

I carve a narrow hole in the foam in my designated spot, then stick the hex head inside it.  Haven't had any issues at all.  I like the above idea of burning / melting a similar hole.

Nice I like that idea. Thanks for the link.
Not quite the same as the hip quivers I mentioned. Looks like it would hold a head securely
