Looking to move to Idaho or maybe elsewhere?

Anyway we are considering pulling up stakes and getting the heck out of the Peoples Republic of California and moving to Idaho or elsewhere. Ideally we'd like at least 2 acres, with access to water and electricity.  And have easy access to hospitals - we're getting older, but we also want to have a sense of being remote. A tall order for sure. So far we've been researching around Coeur D'Alene, is there anywhere else we could look? Of course if the hunting and fishing is good that would be a beautiful thing.

I have a friend who just moved to Coeur D'alene and is quite happy. It sounds as if that area has all the features you are looking for.

Bonners Ferry probably has the cheaper land prices. Lots of fishing, fewer people, fair elk hunting, lots of mountains and trails to hike, hospital in Sandpoint.

I love the Idaho panhandle. I lived north of Spokane for two years and would move back in a heartbeat. Really nice country. One big outdoor playground. Winter isn't too bad either west of lookout pass.

CDA is where I'm moving, only 9 more weeks till we leave New York forever.
 If you come to north idaho, shoot me a pm maybe we can shoot or hunt together.
 Idaho is one of the few " free" states left

Sounds like a very exciting time, good luck to you!  Idaho seems to have a lot of beautiful solitude, but I would be remiss if I didn't encourage you to consider Texas.  Visit the "Big Friendly State", specifically the Hill Country, before drawing any conclusions.  

Governor Moonbeam will miss you; seems California taxpayers are evaporating faster than a puddle on a summer sidewalk.  I don't blame you.  It will be a golden morning the day you leave lunacy in your rear view mirror.
