John Shulz videos: where to find 'em?
« on: July 19, 2015, 07:51:00 AM »
I've been revisiting these shooting video's on YouTube (four part series, about 10 minutes each) and finding them hugely helpful.
Trouble is the quality is so bad, my eyes can hardly stand it.

Are these available anywhere in a better quality format? I've done searches, but coming up with nothing. Thanks in advance for help on this one.

Yes, Bud, those are the vids I'm talking about. Hoping the same thing may be available done in better visual quality, but can't find it anywhere.
I remember someone here on TG mentioning there is something out there like that.

There is rumor he's going to release on DVD.

Thanks for that heads up, I'll certainly keep an eye out for it. Thought there was something already out there.

I think there was a while back. But some have asked Mr. Schulz to re-release. Not sure where that stands.

I used to have a copy of  "Hitting 'em like Howard Hill" that I had loaned to someone many years ago. I don't even remember who! Anyway it never came home and I would love to have another copy.

Last time the DVD was mentioned to him he said something about issues with the orginal producers of the VHS. My VHS does not like the new TV's and is dark just like the YouTube video.

I have shown the Schulz vhs and then the dvd to many newbies. While they do get the fundamentalist approach to shooting a longbow from it, they always have their own interpretations when we go shoot.  I also have all of the Hill films on dvds. With those the newbies get the flexibility and the intensity and focus. Without showing the Schulz fundamentalist approach first and only seeing the Hill films first, the new folks pick up on their own interpretation of the focused athletics and invent all kinds of variations to the form that doesn't work and they always want to start shooting from the furthest spot on my yard.  If they only knew how often my garage has been shot, someone would turn me into GPS, garage protective services.

MnFn, thank you for that offer. Don't have a VCR player, so I'll pass
on it.
