Hey Trad shooters! Arrow question here!

Hello guys hope you're all keeping well.. I have a question regarding on the whereabouts of where to get my hands on some arrows.. So usually I shoot 3555 Gold tip the traditional carbon ones.. But today I lost a few too many in the woods (I'm sure we've all been there) Anyway I want to get my hands on some all white arrows!!! Something that will not be hard to find in the woods when a shot goes wonky!! Any ideas where I can get a hold of some or a good website for custom arrows like that?

Also some quick questions.. Should I go with 4" or 5" feathers for hunting and 3D shooting.. as well as what does Right wing or Left wing mean on the fletching??

You could also do a full length white dip on the carbon arrow of your preference.

if you don't want to lose arrows then chartreuse or Pink Fletching,,,,,, if your really worried about losing and arrow you could try sliding a Scorpio onto the shaft OR use a bright colored 30" Yarn Tracer which gives away what clump of grass or leaves the arrow is under.

Judo points up front on bright colored shafts pretty much eliminates chance for lost arrows.

May I also suggest considering reflective wraps. I personally prefer Onestringer custom wraps, but they are available elsewhere too. I made some up for a friend at work and had to do a little "selling" to get him to spend the few extra dollars. It's now about a month later and he says "those reflective wraps paid for themselves the other day". Apparently he had one bury up under the grass (white/orange wrap with trad barred orange hen feathers and white cock feather), couldn't find it anywhere. He waited til after dark, went out with a flashlight, and located the arrow in under a minute. Those things glow like they have batteries with a decent light source. Judo points as mentioned above also make a huge difference in keeping your arrows from burrowing.

Install GPS on arrows!!! Everyone has days like that and it does suck loosing a handfull of arrows out stumping. Its amazing how they just vanish never to be found again. Many good tips given in the posts above.

4" or 5" feathers will both do just fine for both 3D and hunting. The bigger the feather, the more stabilizing it does to your arrow (which is helpful when you have a large broadhead on the front). With a properly tuned arrow it won't make a whole lot of difference either way. I shoot 4" parabolics for 3D and hunting.

As far as left wing or right wing - this will determine what direction the arrow spins. This is really only necessary to pay attention to if you're using single bevel broadheads. The most important thing is that you get the same orientation as your fletching jig. A left wing feather will only work in a left wing clamp for your jig, and vice versa. Just make sure you do each arrow all the same wing orientation, and you'll be fine.

You can tape off about a 12" section and use Krylon Fusion white spray paint to paint a white cap on the rear of the arrow. Then seal it with Minwax wipe on poly. Then fletch with 5" white fletching. They shine nicely on the ground.

yeah Talon, right wing feathers come from the right wing of the bird, etc.  They curve a certain way, and the left wings curve the other way.  If you use all right, or all left on your arrows, it really doesn't matter.  Don't mix them.  

Fletching jigs are generally oriented for one or the other, although there is some overlap allowable.  Fletching clamps are generally right or left ( if helical).  Again, don't matter which one, just use the right one for your feathers.

Single bevel broadheads spin too, especially when they go thru meat.  If the feathers make the arrow spin one way, then the head makes it stop and start to spin the other way, it hinders penetration and makes no sense.  Use the same "wing" on both feathers and broadheads if using single bevels.
