Toelke Super D or Classic Whip ?

I have never shot a super D but I own a classic whip and it is a dandy bow.  I love everthing about it.  The woods, the grip, the quietness of the shot, the speed it shoots...everything!  It is the bow I am hunting with this deer season.

I'm just the opposit. However I've never owned a whip. But they sure are nice shooters. I have a super D. It's the quietest bow I've ever shot. Very SMOOTHE and comfortable. Just a real pleasure to shoot. And it meets my demand to have an ASL.

I own them both.
I have a 62" Classic Whip and a 66" Super D and love them both.

the Classic Whip is extremely quiet and very fast and feels great in the hand, where as the Super D is smoother and is a whisper as well as fast foe a D style bow.

Super D is a little bitty bit slower than the Whip, little more pulse in the hand on the shot BUT if you want that true-D shape look ain't many better.  Timeless look yet more high performance and dead in the hand than a Hill style.  Very elegant.  

Whips rock if you don't mind a little reflex in the limbs when strung and are super well mannered and do everything a r/d bow should.  Has a few more ounces mass in the riser also.

Honestly I'd go for looks and pick the one you like the look of best.  A TOELKE IS ALWAYS A GOOD DECISION.

Im not a big D style bow fan but I owned a 66 in. Super D 51@28 and if it had been 64 or 62 in. I would of kept it...best shooting D style bow Ive ever shot and Ive shot a bunch and it was only the 2nd one Ive ever liked, the other was a Wallace Mountain longbow that I shot at Cloverdale that Dave Wallace had there, it was his personal bow.

My 64" classic whip h.s. is the finest, best-mannered bow I have ever shot, smooth-drawing, dead stable, fast and like all Dan's bows, QUIET. For all that, I shoot my Super Ds about 95% of the time. Though very quick for a D shaped bow, they are not quite as fast as a Whip and have a very slight pulse at the shot but they are every bit as quiet as a Whip if not even more so. I am awaiting delivery of another Super D as this is written. Good luck choosing between the two and you can't make a wrong decision really.

I have a Super D and my friend has a whip. Both bows are as good as they get. For me I like Hill style bows the straight grip, the slender limbs, and the classic D shape. A simple Bow. My friend likes the looks and feel of a hybrid. I can't say the Whip is better than the Super D or The Super D is better than the Whip. It all comes down to what style of bow you like to shoot. For me it's the D and my friend it's the whip.

I had a 66" Super D and a couple 64" HS whips.
I liked the Super D and enjoyed shooting it.It was very very quiet and smooth.It was not the newer Super D that he is making now though that has some modifications from the original Super D hat some have posted about on here recently.

If you want a high performance aggressive limbed bow the HS is gonna be hard to beat.Its really fast and dead in the hand.Its also quiet and stable.I like its very very narrow and deep cored limb in the hybrid style longbow.As narrow and deep as most any Hill style or mild reflex deflex!It dampens out quickly and tracks straight.It also has a longer riser with a tad more massweight and shorter working limb I believe.The 64" works well for me at about 30 inches draw.I would like to try a 62 incher someday.

For me if I could only have 1 or the other it would be the HS.I love all styles of longbows and have had many and am not prejudice toward any style.I just like the feel and performance of the HS and get a real kick out of shooting it that I find exhilarating.

Never shot the Super D but the Classic Whip I have is very nice and throws an arrow with authority.

I have both and prefer my Classic Whip.  I shoot the Whip better, it is quicker and is my current go to hunting bow.  My Whip is 62" and 50 lb at 26.  It is a TD so is heavier in the riser and was made new for me.  The Super D was bought used and 66" and a little lighter in draw and mass weight.

I have both, it's a tough call. With the subtle redesign of the Super D, the gap on arrow speed between the two is smaller. Here's a video I made alternating between my Whip and Super D. The Super D is 1# heavier in draw at 30".  The Super D is a hair quieter to me but on video, they sound about the same.
