I'm not sure what article you're referring to, but there have been some discussions about it here, and the general consensus, and my personal experience, is to get the weight off your ring finger so most of the weight is held by your index and middle fingers.  I accomplish that by starting my draw with a definite hook on my index finger so it seems to be taking most of the weight at the beginning of the draw, and kind of relaxing my ring finger. By the time I get to full draw, the weight seems to have equalized so most of it is on my index and middle fingers, with about 15% on my ring finger.

At full draw, my ring finger is just along for the ride, barely touching the string.  My middle finger probably takes 60% of the weight with my index finger taking 40%.

It might not be the right way, but that's the hold that gives me the smoothest, cleanest release.

I have actually gone to using only 2 fingers.  I cut my tab so it only covers these. I hope it is not causing issues for my shooting and since you guys get to 15% or so on the 3rd I guess it is no problem to just drop it all together.

Why did I ever open this thread? The question is rhetorical of course. The reason why I posited it is because now I have something else to think about during the draw cycle as I also shoot three under. To put it another way, just one more thought to screw up my shooting. Normally just grip and rip so to speak. Will do my best to forget what I've just read and continue with what feels instinctively natural.

I don't pay attention, I just know that I build a tremendous callus on the bottom side of my ring finger. Works for me so I refuse to over think it.

Kirkll posted a link to a good video. I spent a couple of years before I got that figured out. Even finger pressure and elbow alignment make for consistent results.
