Price drops on gear?
« on: August 28, 2015, 09:12:00 AM »
just wondering if the major archery retailers in  America have sales/ price drops after you're hunting season?
We have no seasons ( except hog deer by ballot) so no sell off of last seasons gear.
Interestingly enough there's a hell of a lot of limbs that are all back order at the moment ... Pain in the butt
Regards mark

The big box stores all have after season sales to get rid of inventory.  Not as much with the traditional archery shops ( that I have seen) which appear to have sales based upon marketing strategy and not dumping inventory.

That is just my observation, which could very well be incorrect !

Sometimes, especially if you are looking for hunting clothing.

It's harder for trad, as Chuck said. Most trad bowyers don't roll out a new "flagship" bow each year the way they do for compounds. For the wheelie industry you're taught that the bow you dumped $1,200 on last year is junk because its 1/2 ounce heavier and 20 fps slower than this years models, so you can snag the older ones cheaper. Trad is usually pretty even-keeled here and the prices stay steady for the most part. Exceptions exist, such as Big Jim's, he usually scores good prices on his stock, and some other folks. But if you buy from a big box store the bows are generally the same price from year to year.

Big Jim usually has some good deals on bear bows. They are usually last years model  still a new bow though, I've seen him have the Patriot the Ausable and few others at great prices.

Lots of gear sales around. After the season though. If you keep an eye open occasionally man can you find a heck of a deal! At some of the bigger sites even.
