shooting two-finger split

Anybody here do it?  I normally shoot 3 split, and have played with two under, but the idea of two split seems like it would be ideal. Same pressure above and below arrow nock.  My problem is that when I shoot this way my arrow always hits high...quite a bit more than when shooting 3 split.  I can't seem to figure out why this would be the case.  Anyone offer some insight?

The way I was taught was to put about 70% on the middle finger, 25% on the ring finger,and the rest on the index. When using too much pressure on the index, you are effectively lowering the nocking point, causing your arrows to hit high. Raising the nocking point to compensate for your technique might work.

Worked well for me on a 40# bow (or lighter), but that's about it.  Heavier and I prefer regular split.  Some guys draw three split and then just remove the index at anchor.

I shoot two split and do it pretty well. Lost my pointer finger in an industrial accident , so my reason is definitely justified.

I shoot two under,I get a better release.I never could shoot split very well.

Hmm. I think itd be ideal. Fewer fingers to have to balance the load across, fewer to release. I'd try it for lighter bows, or if I were a bigger guy. But my 60# bow, and my size, I'd be afraid of tendon or ligament damage over time.

Thanks for the replies.  It's something I have occasionally worked on over the summer but couldn't figure out the arrow hitting high.  Will play more with it and vary the finger pressure to see what I can accomplish.  I find that with the American Leather glove I can easily use 2 fingers with no discomfort for a 55lb bow.  I use a looser self nock on my arrows and don't want to try 2 or 3 under for fear of a dry fire.  Also, shooting split seems to be quieter as well.

I shoot two split with most of the weight on my middle finger. I don't have an issue with arrows hitting nock high.

I have shot two finger split or the flemish draw all my life. I carry 60-70% of the weight on my middle finger over the years this has caused a callus on the lower edge of this finger.
