Lamp on the bow

To me it seems the obvious solution is a headlight.

But I don't have any night hunting opportunities so maybe I'm unaware of it's drawbacks.

I have tried with a headlamp, despite having matt black limbs I still got too much light reflection back off the bow for good shooting. You can use two bits of bike innertube to hold a flashlight on the riser. I got the idea off here but can't remember who used it.

We can't have the light on the bow out here . Do you know how hard it is to shoot with a flash light in your mouth. Head lights don't work the angles off. Trying to dream something up to put on my bow arm.

Head lamps seem like a  good idea but at full draw, often you turn your head slightly taking the target out of the light beam.  

Also from inside the blind, you get too much reflection and cannot see out well.

I mounted mine to the bow  like above, other friends made simple brackets and mounted them to their quivers.

Come on..... go for it.  Look up kayak fishing and see the rigs they use to hold GoPro cameras way out there.  Mount two or three to your back pack shoulder straps and go get em !

Now I'm seeing the drawbacks of using the headlight.

My only experience with night hunting was in TX for hogs and amounted to a few hours.  That involved a flashlight taped to an SKS.   :eek:

Colorado regs don't allow any electronics attached to the bow except cameras.  So, Chuck, tie a Go Pro on and come on out  

If you have a 3pc takedown you can easily make a little bracket like I did.

That is very cool Bisch. My bucket list is a night hunt in Texas for hogs and other stuff. Maybe one day!!!
