Ok need help with a few things in my efforts to become a better archer. I bought a used take down Proghorn and am shooting a set of matched wooden arrows made by wilderness arrows. I have been shooting the string that came with it, but it is becoming tattered looking and the archery shop didn't knock it correctly I believe. So I plan to contact Oliver Stacy for a new string. So...
1) I am sure that Oliver can help me with what type of string, but is there a better kind for this particular bow that other proghorn shooters have found.
2) How do I find the correct knocking point placement?
3) Brace height - I've been doing a lot of research on brace height, but are there any videos that anyone can recommend on YouTube or something that is legit? I've found very conflicting information and am not sure which one is correct.
4) I've started trying the three fingers under method and really really like the feel better and would like to begin shooting like this; however, every time I shoot this way the string slaps my arm. When I shoot split finger it never strikes my arm. Any idea on reasons for this... does it have to do with the brace height?
Basically I want to take it to the next level and begin tuning my bow, learn to set the correct brace height, and getting the right string.
Any and all help much appreciated! Thanks and god bless and good luck to all this season!
