Anyone using Pearson Switchblades this season?

Years ago while in a bow shop in WV I picked up a package of 10 screw-in Pearson Switchblades for $10.  Couldn't resist the buck-a-blade price and the compound boys apparently had no interest in them. Decided to try them this season. They came pretty sharp right out of the package. They weigh 145 grs without the bleeder blade. I was surprised to see that the bleeders weigh almost 20 grs alone. I like the idea of the chisel tip in case I happen to hit shoulder bone.

I have never shot a deer with one though. Can anyone share their experience with these blades before I learn something the hard way? Thanks - Jeff

I killed a few animals with them many seasons ago, including my first whitetail. I always liked them, but they became tough to find. I could get them sharp and they cut a nice-sized hole as a four-blader. The only issue I had with their design was that the ferrule didn't extend to the front of the blade, so in practice, the main blade would occasionally bend off to the side. I never had that happen on an animal, and I would have no problem using them again if I had the desire. Good luck!

I've killed bear and whitetail with them and like them. They are not sharp enough to hunt with though out of the package. To answer your question, yes I'll have at least one in my quiver at all times. They are a very good head.
