That's the kind of blood trail I like: short and bright red! Good shot Roger. I haven't had a shot opportunity yet this season. The wind was too fierce and in the wrong direction for me this evening, so I'm hoping for better weather tomorrow.

That is some goooood eatin' there. My wife and I prefer them that size, just wish they made more meat.

Did a venison football roast last sunday in the slow cooker. 7 hours to cook it & 30 minutes to watch it disappear. Rog, looks like you'll need another deer to keep that one company.

Fine Table Fare! Neck roasts are good slow roasted   with veggies, and in a few cups of wine, pulled of the spine and mixed in the juices it makes then on a good bun, a beer and a football game.

I have never done a neck roast! I always cut as much off as I can and add it to the grindage. I sure need to try a roast in the slow cooker. Congrats on the great shot and meat!
Plant a fruit or nut tree today, and have good hunting tomorrow.

Neck roast was my Grandfathers favorite cut.
