Many here report, me included, that it often takes a couple years with stick bows to connect, or more properly put, (me thinks) it takes a couple encounters for us to get all the ducks lined up and get the green light...
I almost envy you. MOving to a new state, figured there'd be untold #s of hunters here in NE TN, but that is not the case!
Haven't met ONE hunter or fisher person yet and thereby, nobody to share with. Still trying to figure out WHERE the public land is to even take the bow for a 'hobble'.
(I won't say "walk" cause with knee replacement happening mid Dec, it's more honest to say "hobble" currently)
I know moving about in my younger days, it took time to learn the local ropes, and now being retired, you just DON'T meet people like when working and being about more folks more often!
I just had this fantasy that TN would be "different" somehow and more hunters, especially archery or trad archery hunters, then I'm meeting... plenty Central state and farther West, but that is boucou hours driving!
Excellent attitude and as others have said it will happen when you least expect it so keep on your toes... they KNOW when you relax your mind and are "ill prepared!"
