Bearpaw feathers - are the other colors good?
« on: November 06, 2015, 11:19:00 AM »
I have used all the various feather brands out there - Truflight, Gateway, AMG, and wild turkey feathers.  I tried Bear Paw for the first time and ordered a package of white.  First off...the cut and grind was excellent and it seems to be a very good feather.  However, I got white and the color was TERRIBLE.  They are "off-white" at best.  I've used white in all other brands and they vibrant and stark white. they looked pretty bad against a brilliant white wrap.  They look like white feathers that have been on an arrow for 10 years or more (in terms of color).

Anyone else noticed this about their "white" color or did I get a bad batch?  Again, quality of cut and grind is good, but the white was very dissapointing.  Have you found the other colors to be good?

Black is black and red is red. All I ever use. Bearpaw feathers are best buy here in europe. Never tried other colours.

Last 50st feather set I put 1 away.
Good quality.

I got some barred and the color was off, I was initially going to live with it. I later found that the overall quality was poor. The feathers seemed very weak and were breaking at the quill after minimal use. I swore I would never glue another one. Bought my son a Bear Paw armgaurd at the same time and it was junk. I guess you get what you pay for.

Haven't used them in a year or two, but the flo yellow feathers I got last were a very vibrant yellow; excellent color.

The quality of the feathers I got were good relative to cut and grind, I just though the white was very dingy and almost dirty looking.  I'd buy them again though, just a different color.

I have red, white, and yellow and did no notice anything like that.

Covey, I'll add that while I found the Bearpaw's color was good, they were not as consistent or as durable as TruFlite's.

I would use Bearpaw's again, but have stuck with TruFlite's for the last few years. Reliable.
